Link (Ex): The Griffon Knight can handle his companion as a free action, or push it as a move action, and gains a +4 circumstance bonus on all Handle Animal checks made regarding his griffon companion.
Share Spells (Ex): At the Griffon Knight's option, he may have any spell (but not spell-like ability) he casts upon himself also affect his griffon companion.
- The companion must be within 5 feet of him at the time of casting to receive the benefit.
- If the spell or effect has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the companion if the companion moves more than five feet away and will not affect the companion again, even if it returns to the Griffon Knight before the duration expires.
- A Griffon Knight may cast spells with a target of 'You' on his companion as a touch range spell instead of on hismelf.
- A Griffon Knight and his companion can share spells even if they normally do not affect Magical Beasts.
Share Saving Throws (Ex): For each saving throw, the griffon companion may use its own base save bonus or the Griffon Knight's base save bonus, whichever is higher. The companion applies its own ability modifiers to saves, and does not share any other bonuses the Griffon Knight may have.
Evasion (Ex): The griffon companion gains Evasion. The Griffon Knight may, while mounted, gain the benefits of his companion's evasion by foregoing his own Reflex saving throw against the effect, trusting his companion to keep him from harm.
Bonus Feat: The griffon companion gains a bonus feat, selected from Flyby Attack, Hover, Wingover. It may gain instead an increase in flying speed. I consdered an improvement in maneuverability, but Average is already better than I would expect. This replaces the Multiattack animal companions would usually gain because griffons already have it.
Improved Evasion (Ex): The griffon companion gains Improved Evasion. The Griffon Knight may, while mounted, gain the benefits of his companion's evasion, as described above.
