Griffon Companion: The griffon mount gains powers much as a druid's animal companion.; If the Griffon Knight's companion dies, the Knight cannot gain levels in this class until he acquires a new companion, replacing him as a cohort.

Griffon Bond (Su)

At each level after the first, the bond between the Griffon Knight and his companion grows.

Empathic Link The Griffon Knight and his companion know the condition (emotional and physical) and location of each other when within one mile per Griffon Knight level and may use this to pass simple messages (call for help, send to safety, etc.)
Understand Companion The Griffon Knight can understand his companion when "speaking", allowing free communication when together.
Shield Other Once per day the Griffon Knight can duplicate the effect of shield other with his companion as the target, with a range of one mile per Griffon Knight level.
Telepathic Bond As Empathic Link, above, except that full communication may be done, within the limits of the participants' respective intelligence and perception.
